سایت پروژه در کوچه‌ای به عرض 9 متر (پس از اصلاحی) و زمینی پوشیده از درختان کهنسال واقع شده که یک رشته قنات نیز در آن جاری است. تاکید طراح در این پروژه، گسترش فضای سبز موجود در اطراف پروژه به طبقات ساختمان و ترکیب آن با فضاهای نشیمن، از طریق بالکن‌های به ارتفاع 2 طبقه در تمامی واحدها بوده است.

بررسی پرسپکتیو ناظر پیاده (با توجه به عرض کم معبر شمالی) و همچنین ارتباط بصری عابرین با فضای سبز موجود سایت، از دیگر نکات حائز اهمیت طرح بوده است و بدین‌منظور، بخشی از فضای همکف در ارتباط مستقیم با کوچه مجاور است. همچنین در جانمایی سطح اشغال 40 درصدی پروژه، تلاش شده است تا کلیه درختان کهنسال حفظ شده و تعدادی از این درختان در داخل حجم ساختمان جانمایی شود.

در طراحی فضاهای داخلی قسمت مسکونی سعی شده تا تقسیمات رایج توسط عناصر فیزیکی به حداقل رسیده و ضمن رعایت عرصه‌های عمومی و خصوصی، فضاهای سیال و شناور ایجاد شود. در بخش فضاهای عمومی، نظیر سالن اجتماعات و … نیز از طریق تجمیع کلیه این فضاها در طبقه زیرزمین اول، با استفاده از شیب طبیعی زمین، سعی شده تا ارتباط مستقیم با فضای سبز موجود برقرار شود.

Shar Residential Complex is located in a narrow street filled with old maple trees and a stream of water coming from a nearby Ghana’at. The emphasis in the design has been to extend the surrounding green space into the building and combining it with living spaces, via the double-height balconies that are part of every unit.

Consideration of pedestrian’s view point (given the narrow width of the northern passage) as well as maintaining a visual continuity of green spaces for the passerby have been central in the design and therefore spaces on the ground level are in direct dialogue with the adjacent street. With the placement of the 40% footprint of the project, it has been attempted to preserve all the old trees existing on the site, some of these trees have kept their place within the mass of the building.

In the design of the interiors in residential units, the more conventional means of space division – such as walls and doors – have been used minimally in order to achieve more fluid spaces while maintaining public and private zones. Public programs of the project have been condensed in the lower level that takes advantage of the natural slope of the site and is in direct relationship to the green space outside.
