از دیدگاه ما، جذاب‌ترین ظرفیت پروژه که داستان طراحی باید از آن آغاز می‌شد، ارتباط میان نما با همسایه روبه‌رویی آن‌سوی کوچه بود که تنها هشت متر از پروژه فاصله داشت. با در نظر گرفتن این ظرفیت ویژه، ضوابط محدودکننده شهری اصفهان، چالش اصلی طراحی به شمار می‌رفت. بر اساس این ضوابط، کیفیت و دسترسی بناها به نور و منظر از سمت کوچه، وابسته به رضایت همسایه روبه‌روست که این امر مجادله‌ای بلندمدت میان مالک قبلی پروژه و همسایه به وجود آورده بود.
بر خلاف باور رایج که پنجره را تنها گزینه مرزبندی میان درون و بیرون می‌داند، آپارتمان برقع‌پوش فضایی میانی، مابین درون و بیرون را مناسب‌ترین جایگزین پنجره‌های نامطلوب برقع‌مانند به شمار می‌آورد، فضایی که ضمن تامین نور، سبزینگی و تهویه، گشودگی‌های خانه به روی آن باز می‌شوند. از این‌رو، تراس‌های متعدد پروژه رو به این فضای میانی باز شدند و نیز با حذف بخش‌هایی از کف، ضمن تامین ارتباط طبقات مختلف با یکدیگر، فضاها رو به آسمان گشایش یافتند.
آپارتمان برقع‌پوش می‌کوشد با نقد به ضوابط شهری اصفهان، نه تنها به عنوان یک محصول معماری، بلکه به عنوان یک اثر انتقادی، بر بهبود سیمای شهری اثرگذار باشد، ضوابطی که بدون توجه به کیفیات تعاملات اجتماعی انسان و نیز اصول زیبایی‌شناسی کالبدی، اصفهان را به سوی شهری سوق می‌دهد که بناها در آن با چهره‌ای عبوس و گرفته، از فضای شهری رو می‌پوشانند.

From our point of view, the most attractive capacity of the project from which the design story should have started, was the connection between the project facade and the neighbor across the street, which was only 8 meters away from the project facade. Given this special capacity, the restrictive urban norms of Isfahan city were the main design challenge. According to these criteria, the quality and access of the building to light and view of the alley is depended on the neighbor’s consent, and this was a long-term dispute between the previous owner of our project and the neighbor.
In this apartment, contrary to popular belief that the window is the only option for demarcating the inside and the outside, the middle space between the inside and the outside is the most suitable alternative to the unpleasant burqa-like windows, a space where the openings of houses can be opened, while providing light, greenery, and ventilation. Therefore, several terraces were opened to this space, and by removing parts of the floor, different floors were connected to each other, and the spaces were opened to the sky.
This apartment tries to criticize the Isfahan urban criteria, not only as an architectural product, but also as a critical effect on improving urban appearance, the criteria that regardless of the qualities of human social interactions and the principles of physical aesthetics, leads Isfahan to a city where buildings are covered with a gloomy face, and cover themselves from the urban space.
