آپارتمان کوهسار در نزدیکی دامنه کوه و جلوی منظر آن واقع شده است، به‌گونه‌ای که بخشی از کوه را ماسکه می‌کند. برای اینکه از نظر بصری، بنا با منظر طبیعی پس‌زمینه همگون شود، سعی شد ساختمان در ادامه شکل و حرکت کوه باشد و این‌گونه به نظر برسد که تکه‌ای از کوه پشت سر است. متریال آجر نما نیز هم‌رنگ با کوه انتخاب شد تا با حرکتی که از پایین به بالا دارد، چشم بیننده را به سمت پس‌زمینه هدایت کند و با فضای پشت ترکیب شود.

با توجه به اینکه پروژه در ارتفاع بالاتری نسبت به شهر شیراز قرار دارد، باکس‌هایی با اندازه و عمق زیاد در نما در نظر گرفته شد که از چشم‌انداز دور نیز گویاتر دیده می‌شوند. این باکس‌ها علاوه بر کنترل نور شدید جنوب، شهر را از دید ساکنان داخل ساختمان قاب می‌کنند.

زمین پروژه از سه طرف به ساختمان‌های همسایه چسبیده است و فقط از جبهه جنوبی امکان دسترسی و دریافت نور دارد. از این‌رو، با عقب‌نشینی در جبهه شمالی بنا، امکان استفاده از نور برای اتاق‌ها فراهم شد و نیز این امکان پدید آمد که اتاق‌ها در فضای آرام‌تر جانمایی شوند.

در طراحی لندسکیپ ساختمان، به دلیل وجود مسیرهای ماشین‌رو و پیاده‌رو، محدودیت برای به‌کاربردن پوشش گیاهی در کف وجود داشت؛ لذا سعی کردیم فضای سبز را در ارتفاع در نظر بگیریم که مانع حرکت در مسیرها نشود.

آپارتمان کوهسار در هشت طبقه طراحی شده که دو طبقه آن پارکینگ و انباری، و شش طبقه دیگرش مسکونی است. از طبقات مسکونی نیز دو طبقه به‌صورت دو واحدی (واحدهای دوخوابه و تک‌خوابه) و چهار طبقه به‌صورت تک‌واحدی (سه‌خوابه) در نظر گرفته شده است.

Koohsar Apartment is located in front of a mountain and in close proximity to its hillside. The building envelope conceals a portion of the mountain scene, and in order to visually assimilate the mountain scene behind the building and the building facade, the design team initiated an approach to blend in the proposed building. The brick material used for the building facade was chosen to complement the hue of the mountain in the distance. The brick pattern simulates a bottom-to-top movement, and attracts the visitor’s attention to the background, and provides a seamless foreground.

Since the building is located at a high elevation of the city, a few enlarged and deep boxes are utilized to emphasize the building form. These boxes mitigate the southern light, and additionally create an intriguing frame of the city from the interior space.

The building’s land is limited to access and receive sunlight from the southern side, since it is attached to the adjacent buildings on three sides.  In order to deliver sufficient sunlight to the private rooms and provide a peaceful ambiance, a setback was considered at the northern side of the building.

There were a few constraints to providing greenery on the ground floor, due to the existing car and pedestrian pathway. Therefore, vegetation was assigned at various heights (balconies) to avoid obstructing the flow of movement.

There are a total of eight floors in the building, including two underground parking floors and six residential floors; Two residential floors, including two units per floor (one and two bedrooms), and four floors, including one unit per floor (three bedrooms).
